I happend to be flipping through radio stations yesterday and stumbled on Michael Baisden's radio show bashing Bill O' Reilly. Black America loves bashing the guy and sometimes I don't agree with him but this attack was totally out of bounds. O' Reilly went to a Sylvia's Soul Food restaurant in Harlem and made a valid point on his show stating that hip hop is not a accurate representation of black america. In short, Many of the images such as the cussing and other ridicules things seen on rap videos were not seen in the typical african american everyday life and in fact was pretty complimentary to the whole experience. Baisden used a sound bite (a short 10 second sound bite) and totally took the entire comment in a different direction. Of course, this was done to create uproar, anger, and to hopefully get some more ratings (O' Reilly calling the station....yeah right) especially during Jena Six going on. The main thing that kind of bothered me was that one caller mentioned the entire quote O' Reilly said and told Baisden that his attack on his comments were unjust and Baisden dismissed everything she said and refused to go any deeper in the subject in desperation almost. I'm beginning to see a trend here with sleeping when the publiciy pimps of America. Hope Baisden doesn't sale his soul.
